Key cutting and programming

Blade cut, immobiliser coding and remote fob work in one workshop visit ? not an online shop of old remotes. Call us with your make, model and year.

One service page ? not a parts catalogue

The old site sold individual remotes under /product-category/key-remotes/ (Holden, Toyota/Lexus, Mitsubishi, Citroen and more). Those SKUs are outdated. What still matters is the workshop work: cut the blade, program the chip, code the remote, and prove the car starts and locks.

Better for search and for customers: one clear page that covers the job end-to-end, instead of dozens of stale product listings.

Key cutting

We cut spare blades from your existing key or from lock data where the vehicle allows ? the same path used on jobs such as Lexus GS300 and Mitsubishi Magna key cutting and programming on the old site.

  • Spare mechanical keys and remote shell blades
  • Keys cut to match when you still have a working original
  • Coordinated with programming so the new key is ready to code the same day where possible

Immobiliser and transponder programming

Most modern keys carry a chip the car must recognise before it will start. We program transponders into the immobiliser / BCM / skim-style systems using workshop scan tools ? the same skill set behind our immobiliser and ECU coding work.

  • Add a spare key while you still have a working master
  • All-keys-lost pathways where the vehicle and security access allow
  • Keys after module work (BCM, immobiliser, ECU) when coding must be redone

Coverage depends on make, year and security access. Call with the VIN or rego and we will tell you whether we can do it in-house before you drive in.

Remote and key fob programming

Lock / unlock / panic / boot remotes and integrated key shells ? programmed to the vehicle, not just a matching-looking fob from the internet.

  • Replacement remotes for common Australian vehicles (Holden Commodore VT?VE era and others)
  • Toyota and Lexus remote programming procedures
  • Mitsubishi (e.g. Pajero NM, Magna) and Citroen Berlingo style key + remote jobs
  • Standalone remote relearns where the manufacturer supports a workshop procedure

Commodore VR?VX key buttons

Worn silicone buttons on older Commodore remotes are a common complaint ? the rubber collapses and you end up pressing with a fingernail. We can replace the buttons, or fit and code a new remote/fob where the car allows.

On those early remotes, coding is often a once-only write: once programmed to a vehicle, that remote cannot be moved to another car.

Makes we commonly cover

Drawn from the old key-remotes category and key-programming case notes. This is not an exhaustive list ? ask if your car is not named here.

Holden Commodore remotes, Astra TS blades, immobiliser coding
Toyota / Lexus Remote programming, GS300-era cut and program
Mitsubishi Magna cut/program, Pajero NM remotes
Citroen Berlingo key and remote programming
Mazda e.g. Mazda 3 BL key programming
Ford Remote / GEM related key issues (e.g. Focus)
Isuzu / Rodeo Remote programming pathways
BMW e.g. E46 key fob reprogramming where tools cover it
Nissan Cut and program jobs (e.g. Dualis-era work)

Lost keys / all keys lost

If every key is gone, the job is security work ? not a bargain cut at a shopping centre. We check whether your vehicle can be recovered in the workshop (PIN / security access / dealer data) before quoting a path.

  • Bring proof of ownership (rego papers or similar)
  • Expect diagnosis time before a fixed quote on difficult immobiliser systems
  • Some late-model proximity / smart keys need dealer-level access we may need to arrange or decline

When the remote stops working

Dead remotes are not always ?buy a new fob?. Battery, antenna, door switches, GEM / BCM faults and coding loss after module replacement all show up the same way ? buttons do nothing.

  • Scan for body / remote-related codes before replacing parts
  • Confirm door lock wiring and switch inputs where remotes and key barrels both fail
  • Reprogram after correct module fitment ? wrong BCM / as-built data causes lock and config chaos

Related reading will live under Diagnostics as we import case studies. For now, call and describe the fault ? we will say if it is a key job or a wiring job.

Book a key job

Ring the workshop with make, model, year and what you need (spare key, all keys lost, remote only). We will confirm coverage and what to bring.
